LDWA is a registered charity run by women for women covering the whole of Lancaster District, including Lancaster, Morecambe and the rural areas. We also deliver tenancy support services in the Wyre and Fylde areas (including Over Wyre, Garstang, Poulton, Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Thornton, Weeton, Great Eccleston, Warton, Kirkham, Wesham, St Annes, Lytham and Rural Wyre/Fylde).
We work with women and children who are experiencing or recovering from domestic violence and abusive relationships and who are dealing with its effects and consequences.
We support families in a variety of ways, including tenancy support, outreach, confidence courses / support groups, training and sourcing appropriate refuge accommodation for emergencies.
Our helpline is staffed from 10 am - 2pm weekdays.
We also have a range of volunteering opportunities available. From working on the helpline to collecting donations.
Our volunteer committe of trustees oversees our work and develops our aims for the future.
We are committed to supporting women and children who require our support in a variety of ways and will work holistically and professionally in making sure women and children are safe.
LDWA also fundraises and provides charity days for women and children in the district. We always welcome financial donations and fundraising activities.
